Building Strong Foundations
Welcome to Our Primary & Middle School Programme
At The International School Agra (TISA), our Primary and Middle School years are designed to provide students with a broad, balanced, and inclusive education. We nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence while building a strong academic foundation.
Our curriculum not only focuses on knowledge but also emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, social-emotional learning, and life skills. Through engaging lessons, co-curricular activities, and enrichment opportunities, students are prepared for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Primary School (Grades 1–5)
Core Subjects
- English – Reading a variety of genres, creative writing, grammar, and confident communication through speaking and listening activities.
- Mathematics – Focus on number sense, shapes, measurement, and problem-solving, using practical activities to relate concepts to real-life situations.
- EVS (Environmental Studies) – Exploring nature and the world through inquiry, observation, and hands-on experiments.
Foundation Subjects
- Art & Craft – Creative expression through drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
- Music – Singing, learning instruments, and performance opportunities to build rhythm and teamwork.
- Physical Education (PE) – Sports and activities that promote fitness, coordination, and teamwork.
Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE)
Developing emotional intelligence, confidence, and resilience. Topics include:
- Self-awareness and self-esteem
- Teamwork and relationships
- Healthy lifestyles and well-being
- Safety and responsibility
Computing
Building digital literacy and safe technology use through:
- Coding and programming basics
- Understanding how computers work
- Responsible online behavior and digital citizenship
Languages
- Hindi offered from Grade 1
- French or Sanskrit introduced from Grade 5

Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Core Academic Subjects
- Language Arts – Literature analysis, essay writing, research skills, and public speaking.
- English as a Foreign Language (EFL) – Targeted support for learners who need additional help in English.
- Mathematics – Pre-algebra, ratios, fractions, decimals, and introduction to algebraic expressions and equations. Mental math techniques are emphasized.
- Science – Transition from EVS to deeper study of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, fostering inquiry and experimentation.
- Social Studies – Exploring ancient civilizations, geography, cultures, and world history to understand roots of modern society.
- Third Language Proficiency – Choice of French or Sanskrit for linguistic versatility.
- Computer Education – Digital competency, coding, and safe technology use.
Enrichment & Leadership Programs
- Speakolobe – In-house public speaking and confidence-building program.
- Model United Nations (MUN) – Developing diplomacy, research, and negotiation skills through global debates.
